Nothing brings more joy to my heart than: hearing that someone is moving closer to Christ in their spiritual walk. That they are engaging God by reading His Word and following His lead.

I feel called by God to: Preach the Word in such a way that people hear it, understand it, and can apply it to their lives. I also feel called to help people navigate life by putting Christ in control of their lives.

I am blessed to be father to young adults. Claire and Pete live close-by and are awaiting the arrival of another generation of blessing. Josh is nearing the end of his studies and awaiting the arrival of a new life (other than studying). Our family experienced disruption a few years back that took us through difficult times but definitely redirected my life. Hopefully focusing my eyes on His Kingdom, I have come to value the brokenness that happens in life.

I wish I could figure out: Balance . . . in more than one area of life.

In my free time I like to: Write. Actually, I imagine more than I write, but I have this ‘edge of reality’ epic story nearing completion.

If I could invite two people to dinner: living, dead, or fictional I would invite… I often imagine spending time with a cobbler from some small European village several centuries ago . . . a man who lived quietly with unhindered love and devotion to the Lord. And if C.S. Lewis could bring Aslan along . . . definitely!

My walk with Christ has taught me… to value the ‘least of these’, and think of all believers as my brothers and sisters, especially the poor, persecuted, imprisoned.

My perfect day: Don’t think I’ve seen it yet.

Jews for Jesus

CHRIST IN THE PASSOVER

Wednesday, April 12 @ 6 pm

No cost to attend

Jesus’ Last Supper was actually a Jewish Passover. Jacquelyn Meyer of Jews for Jesus will re-create the
traditional Passover service and explain how it foreshadowed Jesus’ death and resurrection in a presentation
called “Christ in the Passover” at Spring Green Community Church on Wednesday, April 12th at 6:00 PM.
Jacquelyn Meyer will set a table with items traditionally used at the Passover meal and detail their spiritual
significance. She will also explain the connection between the events of the first Passover in Egypt and the
redemption that Jesus accomplished, as well as the deep bond between the ancient Passover feast and the
Christian communion celebration today.
Jews for Jesus has presented “Christ in the Passover” at over 38,000 churches. It has been enthusiastically
received by Christians who appreciate learning more about the Jewish backgrounds of their faith. Moishe
Rosen, who founded Jews for Jesus in 1973, has also co-written the book, Christ in the Passover, with his wife,
Ceil. This seminal work includes a look at Passover in ancient times and how it is practiced today. It will be
available after the presentation. Also available will be a DVD of the Christ in the Passover presentation with
David Brickner, the executive director of Jews for Jesus, officiating.
Brickner, a fifth-generation Jewish believer in Jesus, succeeded Rosen as Executive Director in 1996. Brickner
has kept Jews for Jesus on the cutting edge as the ministry has expanded and established branches in eleven
countries, including the United States, Brazil, Israel, Russia, France, and South Africa. “We exist to make the
Messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide,” Brickner states. “There are still a
few that haven’t heard of us!”
Jacquelyn Meyer will be happy to answer questions after the presentation. Call (608) 588-2442 or visit
http://www.sgcommunitychurch.org for more information. There is no admission charge.

Juli Harger Director of Spiritual Growth

Our family is what I call a “boy family.” I would be the one lone resident female; I have to plan my emotional meltdowns to fit their schedule J.  I adore my three…no,…my four boys: Lucas, Christian, Alex, and the one I married – Kendall. All are in there 20’s – except the one I married. When we are together we are loud, a bit obnoxious, and we laugh a lot.

I wish I could figure out: a way for all people to find love, contentment, and purpose in their life.

In my free time I like to: walk/hike outdoors, bicycle, kayak, read.

I wish I had time to:  travel to far away places on this beautiful earth (a bit of money would help too).

Scripture life verse:  Had to go with both of these….

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:18-19

Nobody knows that I: Well, now, if I revealed what nobody knows…everybody would know, and it would no longer be something nobody knows – so I plead the fifth.

My proudest moment: Any moment I see my children laugh, create, and love God.

The most incredible thing about our church is: The way we love! It’s genuine, generous, without judging, and sacrificial.

I am happiest when:

Nothing brings more joy to my heart than: Watching and/or being a part of someone else’s spiritual movement toward God.

The current book on my nightstand: The Bible and Jesus Calling

I wish everyone would: See themselves the way God sees him or her.

I feel called by God to: Follow Him

I am most excited about: Grandbabies?!?

If I could invite two people to dinner: living, dead, or fictional I would invite… Jesus in skin and Mary the mother of Jesus.

My walk with Christ has taught me… He is bigger and better than I ever dreamed and He loves me deeper and harder than I thought possible (or even comprehend).

Grief Share

HOW GRIEFSHARE WORKS

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.
This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before.

GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements:

VIDEO SEMINAR WITH EXPERTS

Each week your GriefShare group will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies, dramatic reenactments and on-location video.

SUPPORT GROUP DISCUSSION WITH FOCUS

After viewing the video, you and the other group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in your lives.

WORKBOOK-BASED PERSONAL STUDY AND REFLECTION

During the week you will have the opportunity to use your workbook for further personal study of the grieving process and to help sort out your emotions through journaling. Your group will spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook study.

Wondering About God?

At Spring Green Community Church, we want you to be able to take the time you need to ask the questions you have about God and the Christian faith.

The bottom line is that God loves you, but there is a chasm between you and God because of sin. God has bridged this chasm through his Son, Jesus Christ.

If you have questions, or if you would like to speak with someone about your questions or faith please Contact Us Here!.

If you have recently placed your trust in Christ for the first time, we’d love to hear from you. If you like we can send you some materials to help get you started in your Christian journey. You are invited to join us for worship this weekend.

Youth Group

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity. –I Timothy 4:12

What We Believe

We can be flexible with our systems and processes and have to constantly change our methods if we desire to be relevant in our community. But when it comes to our beliefs, these are the unchanging non-negotiables that ground us. We fully believe in all of the fundamental truths of God’s Word.

VISION

Come. Grow. Live.

The Bible is God Inspired – 2 Timothy 3:16,17

The Bible is our compass for living. The Old and New Testament is given by God for us to study so we can apply its lessons. Scripture is the ultimate authority for life.
Scripture is the ultimate authority for life.
God is the One True God and Jesus Christ is His Son – John 17:3
There is one all powerful God that is the creator of Heaven and Earth. He loved us so much that he sent his Son so we can have a relationship with Him. Jesus Christ is fully God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught truth, died on a cross, and resurrected from the dead. His same healing power is available for us today.

People Sin. God Saves – Romans 6:23

We mess up and the Bible calls it sin. God created us in his own image, but we chose disobedience. We deserve death and separation from God, but by his grace through his Son Jesus we can be forgiven. By trusting God as our Lord and Savior, we can experience freedom and live an amazing life.

Communion and Water Baptism – Acts 2:41,42

There are two ways we can remember what Jesus did for us on the cross. Communion is memorial and a celebration. The eucharist consists of two elements: the bread helps reminds of his body and the cup reminds of his blood. The Bible encourages us to follow his example by being immersed in water as soon as possible after we make a decision to follow him. It is a public way for us to show that we are changed.

One-Eighty Lifestyle – Romans 12:1,2

God welcomes us the way we are, but change begins to happen from the inside out. We stop living for ourselves and desire to glorify God by our actions and words.

The Holy Spirit – Acts 1:8

The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us power to share the good news of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. He gives us different gifts so we can build up the church and love others. The gifts of the spirit demonstrated in an orderly way are a beautiful and vital part of the church.

The Church – Ephesians 4:12

The church is filled with authentic followers of Jesus who follow the New Testament church in its five purposes. The mission of the church is to become friends with the unconvinced so there may be opportunities for them to become life long followers of Christ.

God’s Plan for the End Times – 1 Thessalonians 4:17

The Bible says that Jesus will return to the earth to bring his followers to Heaven. There will be a final judgement in which the dead will be resurrected and judged. Everyone whose name is not in the Book of Life, will be separated for eternity in Hell. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life will be rewarded and spend eternity with other followers in Christ in Heaven.
